A Godless Eden
I shifted in my bed, grumbling a handful of groggy obscenities at the ruckus upstairs. It sounded like a plane was having a drunken affair with a steam engine, all roaring wind and bucking thuds. The damn tenants upstairs didn’t seem to understand how thin the floors were. If I so much as took a step out of bed, the grumpy prick below me would know. I knew this, of course, because every time I so much as tiptoed on a creaky board the bastard would scream like I'd just killed his cat.

The Villains We Desperately Needed
Someone was breathing on my face. The realization of this unsettling thought jerked me awake with a start. The peaceful face of a boy, the spitting image of mine, swam into my vision. He had a shaggy mop of hair the color of silver, the ends of it almost completely covering his peacefully closed eyes. But even closed I knew the color of them. It was the same as mine - ocean blue.

The Rules of Engagement
A crimson envelope laid flat on the table before the man who’d awakened only moments prior. The vibrant color stuck out in the otherwise drab beige and browns of the train cabin. The space was void of any other human presence than his own — strange given how decorative the cabin was. Lush carpet, and finely stitched upholstery abound. It was somewhat aggravating how comfortable the seating was.
