Five for Five?
1. Patricia and the schoolyard: I first saw her at Our Lady of Perpetual Agony when we were both about begin Grade One. Ms. Pappercock was a kind lady, and she looked upon me with some favour when she saw how well I could keep my handwriting within the lines of the notebooks she handed out. And that might have been the reason why she put Patricia next to me in the classroom after the first month passed. A lot of people thought this was odd, but I remembered that she organized the class according to the grades we received. Patricia and I (I mean, “me”) were both near the front of the class. Not quite Straight-A Sweeties – Ms. P.’s course – but pretty close. But the year was long, and there was a lot we could do to get those front seats.

Symbiotic: Chapter 26
Chapter 26 The tavern was alive with laughter and clinking mugs. Sara sat among the villagers, a frothy ale in hand, listening to the cheers and toasts in her honor. Humans filled most of the room, but she couldn’t help admiring the variety of animalfolk scattered among them. Fox eared hunters, molefolk miners, a wolfish shepherd couple with shaggy fur and sharp grins, and others. Their presence gave the place a warmth and diversity she hadn’t expected, and for a moment she allowed herself to bask in it.

The Dawn and the Moon
The study smelled of old parchment, stained wood, & pipe smoke. Lord Edran Ainsel sat behind his ancient desk, its surface worn smooth by generations of hands that had signed treaties, condemned traitors, and helped pen the future of Goodhollow.

Symbiotic: Chapter 24
Chapter 24 The cavern stretched vast and unnatural, lit faintly from the glow of the single light in the distance of the city sized cavern. Sara pressed forward, spear in hand, armor flexing silently, her Sporesight cloud extended to its full hundred feet. The air was thick with shrieks and glittering wings as wave after wave of Crystal Crawlers swarming to block her path.
