Avalanche

It all began innocently enough at the top of the snow-covered mountain; two guys were racing around on their snowmobiles having a good old time racing around randomly. But neither driver saw the sign: LOOSE SNOW, OFF LIMITS. They roared their way along the edge, daring their fate with their leaps and turns. But the vibration of the engines vibrated their way through the loose snow, and by the time the snow began to slide, they had already gone.
Further down the slope, a skier began his run. A seasoned skier he was not! Not that it was his first time either but didn't know enough to perform any major tricks.
He stood at the gate, waiting for the OK for him to start skiing, and knew if he took it slow (but not too slow) he would be perfectly fine. He got the OK and he went down the slope at a moderate speed.
"AVALANCHE!" Someone cried out.
"That's not funny!" He mumbled, as he heard the rumble. "Oh, HELL NO!"
He dug his ski-poles into the snow and forced himself to move faster. He made the curve that moved him around the bend, as the avalanche nipped at his heels like an angry dog. Faster, and faster still he skied, there was a gap, he leaped to safety, as much of the snow fell into the gap, and he landed relatively safe on the other side, swearing to never go skiing again.

Ty, if it weren't for the word limit, there's a lot more I could've done with it too.
