S’mores? No Thanks!
Things I don’t like admitting out loud
This topic came into mind because I finished watching Inside Out 2 and it’s been a while since I cried so much during a movie. It resonated with me in a lot of ways because that voice in my head: “I’m not good enough” still sits with me. So, let’s push all anxiety aside and get real about the things that I am too afraid to admit out loud.
I will be the first to say it: I don’t like s’mores I tried my first ones while camping this past summer. I think that they are sweeter than it needs to be. I know some readers out there will try and convince me otherwise by saying “oh use dark chocolate”. It’s okay we don’t all have to like the same things. You don’t need to convince people that your opinion is correct. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions about everything.
Peanut butter ruins your favourite snacks. I was going to school with someone who had a deathly allergy to peanuts, I changed schools and sure enough she came to the same school. Then, I got to high school and watching out for peanut butter free snacks was not a big deal. So I thought this is a good opportunity to eat some peanut butter finally and honestly, I don’t like the taste. I thought maybe if combined with chocolate it’d be good so I bought a Reese’s Peanut butter cup and I could not finish it. My tastebuds don’t agree with it, yet I sit at my desk at work eating salted peanuts everyday…I can’t explain it.
Anything pickled (other than olives) taste so good to me. Pickled asperagus- delicious, pickles- so good! Then, someone thought pickled eggs was a good idea…why would you ruin an egg like that! Hard boiled eggs are not a good idea for me; the texture makes me gag. I know that these are a little things that are that big of deal. However, there’s a few more things that are a bigger problem.
I love going outside and enjoying the warm weather, but it’s been really hard trying to enjoy the outside when you smell weed everywhere you go. Luckily, where I live its still not a huge issue but fly to Vancouver and it’s everywhere it follows you like a shadow on the sidewalk. Thanks, Trudeau for legalizing marijuana.
This leads me to my next issue. Vaping, now I prefer inhaling a flavour of strawberry rather than cigarettes or marijuana but now people under the legal age are buying these things and inhaling them to look cool, when young people still don’t have fully developed bodies and are more likely to having breathing issues when they are older.
Ever since getting a puppy I have been going out on more walks and literally anywhere I’ve taken the thing I’ve come to realize that some people don’t pick up after their dogs. I think it’s disrespectful and disgusting that people don’t consider others. Sometimes, you don’t have a poop bag but you know what you do you go home and come back and clean it up! Or sometimes you go to the nearest garbage can and find something that you can use to scoop it up, which is also not the best, but there are other options.
Mint and chocolate I know this is a favourite for many people, but to me it tastes like disappointment. I like both separately fine, but add them together and it’s not great…same as girl guide cookies, it makes you stick your tongue out and regret putting it in your mouth.
What are your least favourite foods?

It's great you know what you like and don't like. Some people are still figuring it out
