There's Always Money in The Banana Stand
Full of life lessons, crazy family drama, and telenovela levels of plot twists and turns, Arrested Development is truly a show worth binging. From the very first episode, you're thrown into this family's life as the head of the family and the Bluth's real estate development empire, George Bluth, is arrested for stealing millions of dollars and illegally building houses in Iraq for the infamous Saddam Hussein. Quite the story starter, am I right?

This Is Us
This is Us follows the lives of the fictional Pearson family. A love story centred around main characters Jack & Rebecca, who soon fall pregnant with triplets. When I first put this on I had run out of programs to watch and my hopes were not high from the synopsis. Within 20 minutes I was hooked. Hooked in that unhealthy way, where you find yourself not wanting to leave your new-found television friends and being so emotionally involved in the storyline. You need water, you need lunch, dinner, the toilet; but you just can’t find a way to pause the television. Amazon Prime also have a sneaky way of starting the next episode so swiftly that you don’t really have a chance to say no. One episode merges into the next and in the blink of an eye your day is over!

How Owen Davis' "Infinity Train" Showcases Death Onscreen; And Why It's Important
On January 9th, 2020, the main character of a television show broadcasted on Cartoon Network was shown murdering another character onscreen. M.T. (a.k.a. Lake) is the standoffish protagonist in Owen Davis’ show “Infinity Train”, where the passengers are regular people, plucked from their real life and boarded onto the mysterious train. The series portrays the character dealing with uncomfortable situations, such as divorce, bullying and death. The latter, takes shape in many forms throughout the series, the most gruesome example being the demise of one of the main antagonists. Although at first glance this scene may seem inappropriate to have on a children’s tv show, there are many more programs today that try to broach more mature topics with their younger audiences. And in a society where people are more openly discussing their own issues and fears, the importance of responsibly educating young viewers about the real world becomes crucial to their development, as well as our own.

How Children's Television Reminded Me of 5 Important Life Lessons
If you don't know me, then you may not know that I have a 3-year-old son, who pretty much rules the majority of my life. Outside of my long hours at work, my time is mostly spent with my son, Brycen. He's a little man on a mission 90% of the time, and he gets incredibly excited when he knows I'm about to come home from work. He spends his days counting down the hours, if he actually could count down, until I get home. Brycen is always daddy this or daddy that and he has picked up many of my mannerisms, to my wife's chagrin I'm sure.
