Father Value
Family structures can be connected to the idea of a family tree. The structure is based upon who had breed together to create the family that exists as a whole and tends to continue to grow. Family structures can also be defined by the roles or power each individual has in the lineage. Normally the Grandmother and her husband hold the highest power that gets passed down to their children, eldest to youngest, and they pass it down to their children. I’ve learned hierarchy proves nothing other than age being increased, in my opinion of the black families. Much like other populations, we tend to suffer from single-parent households and poverty. I plan to discuss the findings of Patricia Thomas of Duke University on the effects of father presence in black homes.

My Thoughts on "Open Secrets"
I had to begin reading this book written by a great friend of mine. I will not give away any details, so all I can say is home is where the heart is. I was confirmed of three great things when reading this masterpiece, and I am sure you will pick us some great lessons when you read this book as well. Family is everything and your family name is very important, but what's more important is the opportunity you give individuals their own chance to make a name for him or herself no matter the reputation.

BOOK REVIEW - The Weird Disappearance of Jordan Hall
The Weird Disappearance of Jordan Hall By Judie Angell 1987 Middle Grade Fiction 121 pages When one is told about a book which has your name in the title, one is likely to take notice. I owe a debt of gratitude to my friend and former school librarian, Joane Greene for turning me onto this book. As a child I was an avid reader and wished many times to be in a book, but never really considered it possible. Then one day Mrs. Greene says she ordered a book with my name in the title; I did not believe her, but I was hooked and eagerly awaited its arrival. When it showed up, I had to wipe the egg off my face in order to read my name on the cover.

Toxic Mindsets in a Hispanic Family: Acknowledgment and Effort Can End Them
Sometimes, living in a Hispanic home can be too much to handle. In Hispanic culture, there may be toxic mindsets within family members. Some examples of these toxic mindsets would be parents telling their kids they have no right to privacy just because they are the parents and can take over, the husband expecting the wife to serve him in every way, girls being treated differently from boys, family members always having something negative to say, and being shamed for not having the same opinions on prominent issues such as abortion or education. In I am not your Perfect Mexican Daughter, by Erika L. Sánchez, readers get an insight into what Julia goes through since her mom never approves of her, this affect Julia deeply. She wants to be herself but being herself means being a disappointment to her mother. Toxic mindsets in Hispanic families need to end because it leads to a family falling apart. In order for toxicity in Hispanic households to end, there needs to be acknowledgement and effort.

The Gift of the Innocent
If it weren’t for the fact that the book is yellowed, flecked, cracked, if it weren’t for the fact that the edition (Garzanti 1942) is a reprint of the original for the publishing Treves of 1926, I would say that the style of “The Gift of the Innocent”, by Milly Dandolo, is similar to that of many contemporary authors, surprisingly modern for the time, albeit influenced by the decadent climate. It is no coincidence that Dandolo, in addition to being a writer for children — a collaborator of Il Giornalino at the age of fourteen, together with Gian Burrasca’s Vamba — was also a translator of foreign masterpieces. Italian versions and adaptations of Dickens, Maupassant, Katherine Mansfield, Bernardin de Saint Pierre, D. H. Lawrence and Barrie are due to her.
