The Human Brain
I am starting to research for a vocabulary textbook reviewing all the necessary vocabulary dealing with the subject of biological psychology. In other words why does the brain make us do what we do. The mind or should I say the mind is a terrible thing to waste is a phrase I heard on an old television commercial. It was either a Just Say No PSA or about some college fund. Anyway in researching I thought of this little drabble to explain my future writings. Get ready for neurons, glial cells and all you may want to know about synapses.

The Lively Art of Writing
'The Lively Art of Writing' A book on composition by Lucile Vaughan Payne. This is an academic book that I have seen read by students when I was in high school who had taken either a course known back then as Advanced Communcations or Honors English. This book was published back in 1975 when I was in upper elementary school and even though it is an older text there are a lot of exercises that can still help writers today.

What would the world do without its greatest invention known as the safety pin? First, there will be a lot of babies back in the days before disposable diapers mothers would have to figure a way to fasten their baby's diaper well, but what a hassle that would be. I guess they could use buttons. Well, for another thing when pants happen to lose a button, or a zipper is broken there would be no way of securing it closed. Wouldn't that be a hoot if caught on the outside. Then it was a good thing that it was invented.

The circus was his life and Harold, the clown, wondered what he was going to do when the circus was sold to another owner for, he knew that he was getting up in age and soon would retire. Harold knew there were a few things he needed to check up on with the boss. The manager of the circus wanted to talk to Harold the next day anyhow about something. He would ask him then. The next day Harold met the manager, and wouldn't you know it he suggested to Harold that he retire and receive his benefits for retirement.

There was a woman named Mary and for some reason she is leaving a room that meant everything to her. Then why am I leaving that is a good question for one to ask. One reason could be there was a fight that she did not want to remember, then again it could be a room that something sad occurred, but then again, the room could just be a room that one could love but seems to be feeling not just right. Could it be that she will remember this room that she loved but cannot stay there no longer.

Reading and Writing Shorthand
This is the subject that I learned and now reviewing, so that I can offer some Shorthand lessons maybe or even write a story or even a novel using this form of writing. There was a very old magazine called 'The Shorthand Writer' I think that was what it was called, and all their stories were written in Gregg shorthand minus the advertisements.

Genograms Assessment and Interventions
'Genograms Assessment and Interventions' is a textbook for counselors, therapists and other related professions. The textbook is written by Monica McGoldrick, Randy Gerson, and Sueli Petry. This book will show you how to make a genogram while learning the terminology and the symbols that go into your project with individual and group clients. The reader will learn to listen more effectively to a person or family history to get to the nitty gritty of the issues and problems that are affecting individuals and families. Chapter 10 was my favorite for it dealt with Play therapy to do with children and parents as well as with the geriatric patients. This was a textbook that was included in the intensive one-week course entitled 'Introduction to Marriage and Family'. In that course I only read what was pertinent to my final project, but in re-reading the textbook now it was a fascinating book for it covered many famous people throughout history.
