OPINION |StudyTube: Bridging Educational Empowerment and Consumerist Temptations
StudyTube, a rising corner of social media, has swiftly become a sanctuary for students seeking academic guidance and community support. Spearheaded by influencers like Ali Abdaal, UnJaded Jade, Yoora Jung, and Alyanna Ross, StudyTube offers a rich tapestry of study routines, note-taking strategies, and productivity hacks. Yet, beneath its ostensibly altruistic facade lies a nuanced interplay with consumerism.

What is Childhood?
What is childhood? Childhood is more than just moving along a developmental timeline and learning and practicing new skills that we all need to use. Childhood is a time to have fun and to rejoice in the choices that we make or may make. Childhood is the time of choices whether right or wrong. Winnie the Pooh is also known as Edward Bear or as Christopher Robin sometimes called him Silly Old Bear. There are some friendships real and imaginary that last a lifetime and this friendship is one of them.

IN-DEPTH | NPU: For Class or the Masses?
Our Sintang Paaralan is hanging on a thread with the possible approval of the National Polytechnic University (NPU) bill. The law promises additional funding for the university, which it deserves; however, whispers of potential tuition fees and compromised autonomy instilled a shadow of unease on PUPians. Will ‘sinta’ remain accessible to all or will it morph into something reserved for the privileged few?

Contraception: It's Not Magic, It's Science. AI-Generated.
In a society deeply rooted in traditional beliefs, conversations about sex education are often met with hushed whispers and avoidance. As a young college student navigating the complexities of adulthood in the Philippines, I have noticed a palpable absence of discussions surrounding sexual health both within academic settings and social circles. This silence, heavy and all-encompassing, speaks volumes about the pervasive knowledge gaps and limited access to reproductive healthcare, particularly when it comes to contraceptives. The taboo surrounding the topic is like an invisible forcefield shielding it from open dialogue, leaving many young adults ill-equipped to make informed decisions about their own bodies and well-being.

Flag Day
What is Flag Day? Flag Day is the day where citizens can display their American flag and show how proud they are of their country and the freedom to do this. It is a day of respect for all flags in a sense. The stripes on the flag stand for if I remember correctly: red for the blood that was drawn in defending the flag, white for the souls who gave their lives for the flag and the blue is for the battlefields that were fought on over the years. The stars are for all the states. Flag Day is a day to be remembered not for having picnics but just to remember what the flag means.
