A Filmmaker’s Review: 'Zodiac' (2007)
Zodiac (2007) is always a movie I have considered strange in the thriller genre because it is based entirely off true events. But then again some aspects and coincidences in the movie make some sections slightly unbelievable. Sometimes misleading in its approach and confusing in its outlook, Zodiac (2007) is a good film to enjoy, but not to think about too much. I believe that Zodiac (2007) is one of those films that when you watch it once, it has an effect but afterwards it tends to lose meaning a bit. Since I watched it three times, I can tell you that in my case, that is what happened.

A Filmmaker's Review: 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.' (2007)
The very first time I watched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (shortened to simply "Jesse James" for the sake of the article and my own fingers on this keyboard), I remember being impressed. It was either because I was genuinely enjoying myself or because I was about 14 at the time. Both are acceptable as an excuse. A beautiful movie with an absolutely stellar cast (including the likes of Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Jeremy Renner, Sam Shephard and Sam Rockwell), it seems to be a bit of both excuses that contribute. Let's take a look at why I rated this film upon second watch, the way I did.

James Reviews: 'The Mule'
If Clint Eastwood has one universally respectable trait, it's knowing what type of movie he can or can't make. After being in the business since the 1970s, he has quite the body of work, playing iconic characters such as Dirty Harry and the Man With No Name, he's garnered fans from multiple generations. Unfortunately no longer able to take on physical heavy roles, he's managed to create films behind and in front of the camera despite his age. This time around, he reteams with Gran Torino writer Nick Schenk for another Eastwood featured vehicle. Given how much driving is featured in this movie, that pun was entirely intentional.

My Review of 'Road to Perdition'
Road to Perdition came out back in 2002. I'm not sure why I didn't go watch it when it first came out. I think it may have had to do with all of the quality movies that were coming out around that time. Look back at the lineup, and you'll see a lot of classics in there.

Henry Cavill Hunts Down a Dangerous Criminal Mastermind in 'Night Hunter'
There is no question that Henry Cavill is one of the games biggest actors today, and he shows little signs of slowing down. Ever since he first came on the scene with Showtime's The Tudors, it was pretty obvious this man was destined for bigger things. And that is precisely what has happened since the period drama.

In The Hustle, we find Penny Rust (Rebel Wilson) and Josephine Chesterfield (Anne Hathaway) playing their trade as scam artists and swindling naive men out of their money. While Penny doesn’t have rent money, Josephine comes from a different echelon of society, but they both set their sights on the same mark. Consequently, they team up to take the tech prodigy for everything he has. Does this narrative sound at all familiar?

Just How Crazy Can the Second Season of 'Mindhunter' Really Get?
Mindhunter is arguably one of Netflix’s best shows, and given this is the streaming service that brought viewers such compelling programs like House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black, and Black Mirror, that praise is no joke. Based on the book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, written by F.B.I agent John Douglas—this raw, gritty serial killer drama feels very reminiscent of such iconic serial killer films as Seven and Zodiac, which makes a lot of sense given how this is academy award-nominated director David Fincher's baby. But unlike those films, and other programs like it, Mindhunter showcases how the FBI became familiar with crazy, so it could better apprehend all the crazy out there that needed apprehending.
