Face-to-face with a killer
I still remember pressing my toddler-sized hands against the window and breathing on the glass. It was October 29th, 1989, and I was less than one week away from turning four years old. I was at a dry cleaning shop with my mom in her hometown of Bay Village, Ohio, where my family had recently moved. We were living with my grandmother on Lincoln Road while our new house was under construction.

The Yellow of Bolzano. Top Story - February 2021.
On January 5th, 2021, Benno Neumair reported his parents missing from the house they shared on the edge of Bolzano, Italy. Bolzano is in the Alto-Adige region or Italy—northwest of Venice, in the alps, near Liechtenstein. It’s an area where the locals speak German rather than Italian. In fact, when I was at a language school in Bologna, learning Italian, one of the other students at the school was a man from Bolzano. That’s right—he was in his mid-twenties, grew up IN ITALY, and was learning Italian.

The best true crime podcasts
I love true crime podcasts. I'm the weirdo who can't go to sleep without listening to the calming voice of Dateline's Keith Morrison as he tells us the story we are about to listen to has more twists and turns than the world's largest maze or listen to the hosts of Crime Junkie as they take us on a rollercoaster ride into the world of true crime. My only gripe? I binge listen the newest podcast quicker than someone else can drop a new that one grabs my attention.

Black Book Bereaved
It wasn't long after the passing of Phil that his wife Andrea began to organize all of the things that he had left strewn throughout his basement and workshop. Phil had been a loving husband and great father to their only daughter, and she cherished all the little things that they had shared through the years. As with the passing of any relative there comes the task of going through all their things that must be saved or parted with. Phil loved to tinker in his spare time in the evenings and spent a great deal of long nights in the basement. To which she paid no mind, because he was home, and not out drinking with the guys, just right there at home. What she was about to experience though, would change her forever.
