Unveiling the Shocking Truth Behind the Auto Claims Industry:
The Secret They Don't Want You to Know
Hi folks, I'm a anonymous, licensed Auto Claims Adjuster here, working for "the best, but not the cheapest" insurance company. If you lend me a few moments of your time, I'm going to save you money and heartache by exposing secrets that insurance companies don't want you to know. After years in the industry, I can't stay silent anymore.
I've seen first-hand the devastating consequences of hit and run accidents, especially when you have to call your own insurance company to file a claim.
Not only are consequences heart-wrenching, but they can also result in steep insurance premiums, leaving people feeling helpless, frustrated, and pi**ed off! It gets worse...
I'm NOT allowed to tell our policyholders (nor is any Claims Adjuster in any insurance company), that even IF it's not your fault, the moment you file through your own insurance company for the damages, your rate will most likely increase; not "possibly". I say "most likely" because if you have what's called "Accident Forgiveness" coverage, this may be your get-out-of-jail free card but know this: you will still be on their radar.
TIP: You should ALWAYS file the accident claim through the responsible party's insurance company if they're at-fault and think of your own policy as an "in case of emergency" coverage. This will keep your record clean with them.
If you're stunned at this point, hang tight: the increase isn't applied to just one vehicle on the policy if you have multiple vehicles on it. It's applied to ALL vehicles; even if you have never had an accident but your accident-prone teen or young adult has.
It really does anger me because like you all, I have auto insurance, too. If I wasn't a sole income-earner for our little family, I'd have quit by now. I do go above and beyond for my policyholders while I'm there, so that's some consolation. Telling you this information and what I'm about to say about dash cams, is another small piece of good karma.
So, while I'm still there and getting inside baseball, I feel this is one small way I can help policyholders without losing my job, which could save them hundreds to thousands of dollars per year and over the life of their insurance policies. Here's more info you should know...
Hit and run accidents have been on the rise in recent years, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reporting over 2,000 hit and run fatalities in a single year? What if your own policy didn't even have enough coverage to pay your medical bills while the careless driver gets off Scott-free? What about your pain & suffering on to of it? It's staggering what I've seen.
When it's a H&R, there's a 2-part hurdle to overcome:
- Part 1. Finding the person & their insurance company
- Part 2. Proving the offense once you find them is the second part because their insured will deny even being involved
That solution is a rear and front-facing dash cam. Hands down. I've had only a dozen or so insureds within the last 13 months, send me high-quality dash cam footage which I've used to nail the responsible driver and his/her insurance company. This prevented them from going through their own coverage and becoming a rated hazard. I'm so amazed at how many people still don't have this relatively inexpensive, peace-of-mind in their cars and it's usually because they don't know!
In the hundreds of hit & run AND word vs. word claims, I've had in the past 6 months, a dash cam could've help them get the tag # from the hit and run (H&R) driver or vehicle that caused the accident but was claiming our insured was at-fault. In the H&R scenario, a tag # caught on camera allows us to pull a background search to find the perp AND their insurance company (adverse carrier).
From there, we give you the information and guide you on how to file the claim directly against the adverse carrier. PLUS you have proof of their responsibility, thus expediting the process of the adverse carrier accepting liability. Lastly, you have hard evidence to file a police report!
TIP: you should ALWAYS call the police in an accident when it's a hit & run even if they don't come out. If you don't, you also risk being denied a coverage which could have a lower premium!
Adjusters truly love catching these people and believe in justice, so we want you to feel empowered without being penalized when possible. Dash cams MAKE this possible.
Statistics show that the average cost of a car insurance premium in the US is around $1,500 per year, and if you're involved in a hit and run accident, that number can increase by hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
By installing a dash cam in your car, you can have peace of mind knowing that if you're involved in a hit and run accident, you'll have solid evidence to present to the insurance company, reducing the cost of your premium and saving you hundreds to thousands of dollars per year.
TIP: a dash cam may even give you a premium discount as the insurance industry is recognizing how much money they save their company from their insureds having them.
So, if you're looking for a simple and effective way to protect yourself and your wallet, I highly recommend investing in a front-facing dash cam today. I also made sure to ask each time, which dash cam was used when the footage was clear. Click here to see the most budget-friendly and high quality camera that's been used for me to overturn liability and help members save significant money & frustration. There are even price breaks for multiple vehicle policies. No software to download or memberships. Straight forward, this is the cheapest piece of equipment you can buy with a priceless return on ivestment!
I swore an oath to be honest and loyal to our members and I always will despite the industry secrecy. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be an adjuster because it's a crisis of conscience every day. The years have taken their toll. My only solace is that I can at least share information in forums like this and handle my daily claims in such a way that I keep our insureds best interest at all times. Please feel free to share this with a loved one who might benefit!
In service to you always,
Your Anonymous Licensed Adjuster
