(Dark Romance - Part 7)
"This is what true love really is, Neela. This is what a sacred relationship looks like. The fact that you still feel this way proves that you were truly Shraban's wife. And from what I’ve seen, that boy loves you madly," said Neela’s mother.
Hearing her words, Chandni sighed deeply and said,
"Maybe you're right, Mom. But I just can't remember the past, no matter how hard I try. Every time I try, my head hurts terribly."
"Don’t force it, Neela. When the time is right, everything will come back to you naturally. Alright, you stay here. I have some work to do," said Neela’s mom, gently caressing Chandni’s head before leaving.
As soon as she left, Neel came to Chandni’s door and asked,
"May I come in, Neela?"
"Oh Neel bhaiya, come in! Do you need my permission to enter my room now?" she smiled.
"I didn’t before, but now you’re someone else’s wife, so yes, I do."
Hearing that, Neela looked down, saying nothing. Neel, seeing her sad and silent, said softly,
"I heard everything, Neela. I heard what you and Mom talked about. The truth is, besides a fondness for me, your heart never really belonged to me. You only truly love Shraban Choudhury, not me."
"Neel bhaiya, I..."
"Let me finish, Neela. You were never really mine. But I have no regrets. All I ever wanted was your happiness. And I know Shraban will keep you happy. No one can love you the way he does—not even me. He truly loves you deeply. Please, never leave him, Neela. He may have a temper, but he has a good heart. And he loves you like crazy. I could tell when I spoke to him."
Chandni listened quietly with her head down, saying nothing. Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a video call from Shraban. Without thinking, she answered.
As soon as the call connected, Shraban saw Neel standing very close to Chandni. The sight made his blood boil. In a sudden rage, he smashed his phone and stormed out of his room, heading straight to Neel’s house.
Chandni was shocked. Since she came here, Shraban never cut her calls without saying something first. What happened now?
Noticing her lost in thought, Neel said,
"Am I bothering you, Neela? I should leave. We'll talk later."
Without waiting for a reply, he walked away. But Chandni wasn’t paying attention—her thoughts were consumed by Shraban.
Within half an hour, Shraban arrived at Neel’s house and started shouting her name. Chandni rushed out of the room, followed by Neel and his parents. As soon as Shraban saw her, he grabbed her hand and began dragging her toward the door.
"Ahh! What are you doing, Shraban? Where are you taking me like this? You’re hurting me. Please let go of my hand!"
Shraban said nothing. His usually fair face was red with rage, veins bulging on his forehead. Just as they reached the door, Neel’s mother blocked the way.
"What’s going on, Shraban dear? Why are you taking Neela like this without telling anyone?"
Shraban stopped and said in a harsh voice,
"Move, Aunty. I’m taking Chandni away from here."
"But she just got here this morning! She was supposed to stay for two days."
"That was the plan. Not anymore. I’m taking her now. And she’ll never return here again. Please, move."
Without letting anyone say another word, Shraban stormed out with Chandni, forced her into the car, shut the door, and got in. He sped off furiously. Chandni, terrified, clutched at him and cowered in fear. Shraban’s eyes blazed with fury.
Once home, he dragged her into the room, pushed her onto the bed. She looked at him with teary, terrified eyes. But before she could speak, Shraban pinned her down, gripping her hands tightly, making her cry in pain. Then, instead of a kiss, he bit her lips hard. The pain was unbearable, but she was powerless against his strength. Tears streamed down her face.
Eventually, Shraban let her go, sat beside the bed, turned away, and said in a cold voice,
"I told you, Chandni. You're my wife. Only mine. Don’t you ever talk to another man again—especially Neel. Remember this. This was your punishment."
With that, he stormed out, leaving Chandni sobbing in pain. Eventually, she cried herself to sleep.
