A True Friend by Aram Frith
Friendship and How It Affects Us

To own the word friend, we must first become a true friend.
A good conversation does not make a friend. If someone is not there in times of trouble, if they go somewhere else to talk about their sorrows, if they support you in making a mistake. If they come out of their way to talk about their sorrows in times of happiness, that is not a friend.
Even though you talk to them day after day, they do not seem to notice you in the crowd, if they do not take you into account, if they show that they do not care.
It may be because they talk about your mistakes and shortcomings with those in the crowd. It may be because they agree with you when you say your mistakes, they open the way. Or they may think that it is shameful to talk in front of the congregation.
It is wrong to join in on the conversation when your friend is being insulted in a place where they are not there, and it is even worse to remain silent without saying anything. If you have the backbone to say that what you are doing is wrong, then you should be lucky to have that friend.
Our wounds are often not inflicted by people we don't know or care about. They are inflicted by people we love and value.
The word friend is just a word. Until it's given to the right person,
The Power of Friendship and How It Affects Us
Friendship is among the most cherished and rewarding relationships a person can experience, What makes a good friend, and why is this relationship so important?
Ultimately a good friend wants what's best for you. They will be there for you in your best times and your worst times to listen or just to be there when you need them.
Being around a good friend isn't just during the joyful days, it's how they are always there for you during the worst ones. They inspire that stability and reassurance that can change everything whilst never giving in to adversity.
Loyalty is one of the most important qualities of a good friend. A best friend is a person who can be trusted 100%. Sticking to their word, honoring secrets, giving sincere advice, etc.... loyalty constitutes the cornerstone of a solid friendship. Even the best of friendships will set falter without it. That also relates to loyalty, being present not only in cheerful times but also in torment or disappointment times.
Well, your good friends help you grow. They criticize constructively, support our aspirations and push us to be the best versions of ourselves.
Someone who makes you decide to be the best you can be is a friend who really wants you to be happy and successful. They will not always agree with your choices but always have your best interest in mind.
Empathy is one more vital trait of a good friend. A good friend will not until they understand how you feel or how it should be.
They know when to say a word of encouragement, when to shut up and when to tell a joke to lighten the mood. Them being able to get in to what you are trying to say gives the friendship so much more meaning.
In the world of today, everything runs too fast, so the importance of a good friend cannot be stressed enough. They are not just there for the good times, they are anchors in hard times.
A close friend means encouragement, someone to strive for on your off days and the one who pumps heat and understanding into your life. The true buds of friendship are rare and undoubtedly need to be cultivated and cherished,as centres of wealth that life offers.
