The words from the OB's filled everyone's mind, everyone heard or saw them, not one person was left untouched or without understanding, even the very young somehow had a simple understanding of things being different. The proof they offered was irrefutable in every sense of the word. They sent visions of their placing the writings and books, the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail... every great item written about in books of religion was placed at the various capital buildings.

Before It Ends. Content Warning.
As soon as my mother left the room, I removed the ring and placed it back in my jewelry box. I even took a photo with my phone as proof, because I was doubting myself after seeing it on my finger. I tried to shake off the nightmares and the ring being on my finger as I went to take a shower. I kept having flashes of the shadow staring into my soul as I lay there unable to move in bed. As the water from the shower cascaded down my face, I tried to block the images from repeating in my head... it didn't help. I went down for breakfast, the vision of the shadow figure standing at my bedside, watching me... it continued to linger through my mind constantly.

The Shattered Oath Part 1
The dagger came without warning. Vaelin barely had time to twist aside as the blade hissed past his throat, grazing his skin with a cold, unnatural sharpness. The assassin moved like a wraith, black-cloaked and silent, vanishing into the shadows of the inn’s dimly lit room before he could land a counterstrike. Elira’s voice cut through the chaos—sharp, urgent.

Weighted Choices
She sat on the edge of the dock. The lights across the city flickered in different areas from the rolling power surges. Fires danced sporadically in the streets. But here, at the dock, you couldn’t see that chaos. She looked up at the low laying clouds and it was just a gorgeous shifting light display rippling on the bottom of the ever-constant stratus clouds. The Washington coast was forever covered in clouds. She thought about the last thing Meimei had said before the radio communications fell. If she could get “to the middle of nowhere” they would meet up, and “bring a fanny pack”. Melody’s infectious laugh crackled out over the sound. She loved her little sister and really hoped someone would make it there. She had waited to long out here, trying to help these people.

Shadow’s Veil – Part 5
The world lurched. Vaelin felt weightless, suspended in the rift between realms. Shadows curled around him like living tendrils, whispering in a language he didn’t understand, their voices slipping beneath his skin like threads of ice. Then—light. Blinding, searing, overwhelming.

Unraveling Worlds. Top Story - March 2025. Content Warning.
It's still a struggle for me when I think about how significantly everything changed and the reasons it all happened. For the longest time I spent every day imagining the 'good ol' days' where things were “normal” and life was... “good”. I never realized how conditioned I was, how conditioned everyone was, to the so-called “normal” days of life. When 'The OB's' came, it was a nightmare for the world. The delicate balance of life was shattered and the beliefs of many were completely destroyed. I remember that day like it was yesterday, and for a long time I saw it as the beginning of the end. I now realize it was only the end of what we ‘knew’ and the beginning of truth. The things I remember the most from the 'before' days seem so deprived of reason as I think back on them, but back then, it was what... was.

Shadow’s Veil – Part 4
Vaelin hit the ground hard. His breath punched from his lungs as he tumbled through the darkness, his body rolling across something smooth and cold. He came to a stop on his back, staring up at a sky that wasn’t a sky at all—just an endless void swirling with fragmented light, twisting like liquid glass.

Shadow’s Veil – Part 2
Darkness surged forward like a living thing. Vaelin moved on instinct, twin daggers flashing as he twisted to dodge the creeping tendrils that lashed toward them. His blade cut through nothing but air—no resistance, no flesh, nothing to kill.
