Descent (Part Ten). Content Warning.
Blinking, trying to push through a fog that had fallen over my thoughts, I struggled to understand what I was seeing. Looking for all the world like they were at mass, or waiting for the bride to emerge at a wedding, rank on rank of people knelt with heads bowed. Each one facing the man at the front. The ranks were not perfect, holes stood out reminding me of gaps in a smile.

As We Move On.
As I leave my families little place, that I still feel strongly as if we're not supposed to go, I know without a doubt I want to continue to bring my small one as my family did. I was quite young when the full switch happened. I only remember small bits of the old ways. But mostly form what felt like hidden trips to see my parents elders, as they could not handle the change and were set up in what people called, "Miniature Villages for the Wise and Well Aged." I could not even begin to guess how many of these existed initially, but I know that now they are all gone now, and many look much like what exists in the spot my parents used to take us, this place that I just left, where I stood looking at the left over carnage of The Last Great War. I always felt like we weren't supposed to go to the old villages either. However like my parents I feel like we need to learn from the past as much as we can. I also know how dangerous this information could be in the wrong minds. This is why Teachers and Shapers are the only ones to keep and share this information quite carefully.

“What the hell?” whispered A.J. “Shouldn’t we call the police?” asked Emi. “I am going to check,” said Tim. “No!” I grabbed his shoulder. “Do you remember the rules of the Appalachian Mountains? If you heard something, no, you didn’t; if you saw something, no, you didn’t. Don’t whistle, don’t look back, and walk away but don’t run.”

Savior of the Damned. Content Warning.
August 1st Phaedra sat in her room, feeling beat down. New clothes had replaced the old ones, and she rolled her tight shoulders, trying to relax. Making sure she was alone, Phaedra reached under her shirt and pulled out the Godstone. Every one that existed looked different. Each one had its own story, too. Looking at the crystal that enclosed a leaf with what looked like a caterpillar, she wondered what this one was for. They were supposed to birth gods—or so the rumors went—and it was hard to say just by looking at it. Orso wouldn’t have gifted it if he didn’t think it was important. Especially not by risking Eldren’s life like that.
