4-H-N On The Trail, Chapter Two
For some hours 4-H-N traipsed the lit streets, a female Mini-Flash conspicuous only for the small backpack she wore, which looked like it was slotted together from interlocking plates of metal. At length she found herself before the entryway of a vast supermarket concourse. Above the heads and other organs of life-forms proceeding inside, spotlights fanned the beginnings of space where bobbed several blimps bearing the outlet’s name.

4-H-N On The Trail, Chapter One
Every week when she wasn’t on duty, 4-H-N would go down to Prof’s lab and spend time with Robo-Petunia. That automated approximation of a pretty girl seemed to have somehow imprinted on her, perhaps because it was 4-H-N who’d dragged her out of the junkyard storeroom where she’d been stowed. Today they were sitting on the laboratory floor, pointing the soles of their feet at each other, and slowly rolling a yellow Flashball back and forth between them.

Sal and Hajime quickly re-established their routines, with a few noticeable differences. Guardians of Knowledge
David continued to pump gas for the next three month while searching for work. The job market was tight for people without a specific trade. He learned quickly that the technology field had no interest in someone without a degree in electronics or coding. He considered looking for work at one of the paper mills in the neighboring town of Fitchburg, but that wasn’t any different than working in a plastics factory. He even considered rejoining the Army or maybe the Air Force because the living conditions are better. The one thing he was sure of was that time was continuing to surge ahead, and his life was at a standstill.

Asteroid Apophis
Asteroid 99942 Apophis has captured the attention of scientists and the public since its discovery in 2004 due to the possibility, albeit small, of a future collision with Earth. With its estimated diameter of 340 meters (1,100 feet), Apophis is large enough to cause significant regional damage, and its trajectory initially suggested a potentially close encounter with Earth in 2029 and 2036. While updated calculations have ruled out these impacts, Apophis remains an object of study and concern, raising questions about what would happen if such an asteroid did hit our planet and how we can prepare for the possibility.

But by the late 1980s and early 1990s, everything started crumbling — fast. At the same time, Germany, which had been divided since World War II, saw a historic moment of unity.

The Ink of the Void
The rain in Glenhaven didn’t just fall; it wept. It was a thick, shimmering precipitation that tasted faintly of ozone and old regrets. I watched it from my office window, the neon sign of the Wyvern’s Tail Tavern across the street flickering in a rhythmic, sickly purple. Every time the light hit a puddle, it sent a ripple of violet through the grime of the street. It was the kind of city where even the puddles felt like they were hiding something.

The Inverse of 114
Phase I: The Initiation of Displacement The mechanism requires a displacement of 4.2 centimeters to initiate the stabilization cycle. At exactly 0600 hours, the primary drive weight, a lead cylinder weighing 140 kilograms, begins its descent within the stone shaft of the Highland Array. The friction of the braided steel cable against the iron pulley generates a frequency of 440 Hz. This sound vibrates through the mortar of the tower, shaking loose 0.4 grams of limestone dust which settles upon the primary brass gears.
