metal
Distorted guitars, crazy rhythms, dense bass, and insane vocals. What it means to be a metal head.
An Introduction To The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Image Source Here Introduction I had decided to do a Sensational Alex Harvey Band playlist and as I looked I realised there were many excellent cover versions of songs that the band had done so I put together a covers playlist as well as my introduction to the band. You can read that, and listen here:

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - The Covers Playlist
Introduction This playlist is cover versions of songs by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. I saw them live many times and unfortunately, we lost Alex to a heart attack the day before his 48th birthday in 1982. He had still been performing for three decades as he began performing in Skiffle groups in 1954.

Every Song A Memory. Top Story - May 2023.
If I said my life were not defined by music, I'd be disingenuous to the medium that has shaped the artist you see sitting here at her kitchen table in a cut-off t-shirt, tattooed, watching my pet make her slow and arduous recovery. Music has held me together from my earliest memories, has been a guide to my identity, has been a vent for my outrage, and has been my road home. I don't have a collective discography of cohesion. Every melody has come into my life exactly when I needed it. And this last week I needed it more than ever.

Random rules
In the old days you had to push play for a cassette, put down the needle or eventually press play with the cd. You normally started at the beginning and played til the end. To discover a new band you needed someone to tell you or maybe you would see them at a concert. Then the internet happened.

Metal for Calm
So, a little backstory. I used to listen to βoldiesβ or music from the 50s and 60s when I was younger despite growing up in the 90s. I started getting into metal and rap when I was older, as it was more relatable at that time. Though I still appreciated older music. Now, I appreciate all music, but have made a list of what I think are the most relatable (and awesome) metal songs. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

A Literary Playlist
Introduction I was listening to "The Village Green Preservation Society" by The Kinks and "Animal Farm" came on, and I got thinking of the many songs that shared their titles with often classic book titles so I thought that would be a good idea for a musical playlist.

Looking For New Songs?
New songs that you love are hard to find sometimes. This is a fun game to find new artists and new songs of all genres. My friends and I use to play this all the time. We referred to it as "The Word Game". We usually used Spotify as we have premium, but could probably be played on any music platform. So, here's the game. Pick a word or phrase and type it into the search bar. After that choose songs and pick the first one that you don't know. Sometimes we would use a random word generator. Example time. Let's use the word "Crowd".
