"Zen" Playlist
When it comes to meditation and music, they are inseperaptble, like the M & M candy. But I'm not going to be discussing candy. I'm going to share with you all my "Zen" list. First off, what in the world is Zen? Zen has two meanings. In the noun form, it is a name of a Japanese school that teaches about meditation and finding peace through Buddhism. Described as an adjective, it means to feel joy and feel peaceful. With that being said, today, I'll be talking about my "Zen" playlist. My playlist has four genres. The first is meditation. The second is worship music. The third is motivational/clean-up music. And the fourth is hip-hop/rap music. Each one relates to me differently both mentally and physically.

The Goosefraba Collection
To me, meditation is all about evening out your mood. The purpose of it is to take you out of whatever negative emotions you may be experiencing and bring you back into a better mood. Zen is evening out the keel of your emotional ship, bracing your mind’s house against the harsh storm winds of the circumstances of the world and getting right within yourself. That’s where music comes in.

Tuning In to the Universe
It's Monday, 3 a.m. I'm drifting in the dark, eyes burning as I swipe up to look at just one more post. Then one more. And one more after that. I want to sleep, but I can't stop. Something restless and immense is prowling at the back of my mind. If I set my phone down and close my eyes, I'll have to face this existential dread.

15 songs to keep you safe.
Because it doesn’t feel very safe anymore. To be young, queer, and black, in a red state. Family walks get tricky, navigating down the streets in our neighborhood. Making every effort to avoid the streets with the most trump flags. Try not to stare at the confederate flags or those thin blue line flags as we walk by. It’s just a stupid flag, I tell myself. Everyone is entitled to their values and beliefs I say. None of what I say to myself makes me feel better or safe.

Nobody Likes A Music Snob
Everybody has that one piece of music which just makes everything feel like it’s falling into place, bringing true joy to the listener. Even those who lament at the ‘music of today’ have something which takes their mind to a different place in times of stress or accentuates their mood when they are happy!

Music To Save Your Sanity
Music is a force of nature. It connects us, moves us, and helps us understand ourselves. Many of the songs chosen for this playlist come from shows or movies that are special to me. Although most of these songs are derived from other media there is no need for you to have seen the movies or even enjoy the same genres to connect with the tone of this collection. I chose these songs because they work together to create a serene vibe and promote creativity or self-reflection.

Music To (Not) Write To. Top Story - April 2021.
Music is something I feel deep within my body. It isn't that I have some irresistible urge to break out into 'Free Bird' at the crack of dawn every morning or make a habit out of strumming 'Wonder Wall' on an acoustic guitar that materializes in my hands anytime college kids start drinking. I get absorbed by music, though. If I'm cleaning or cooking this isn't a problem. It's easy to throw shapes in an empty apartment while sweeping, even if that does mean I'll end up kicking at least one pile into oblivion in the process.

Music and Visualisation
As of April 2021, there are currently 7.9 billion people on planet Earth (sourced from Worldometer). Every single one of us are born with a unique set of personalities that tailor our talents, fears, and goals. While we are tremendously unique as we journey through life, we all have one thing in common - we experience emotion. Whether it is a fleeting moment, or deeply submerging, emotion can sculpt, direct, and govern our lives.
