Reason First: Who Punches a Cop in the Face and Runs?
The life you save may be your own if you want your life. Surprisingly, a Pennsylvania man tested the men in police uniforms by taunting and running away from them. While (of course) the footage failed to convey the beginning of the incident, it is a relief that this scene did not end with gunshots between the alleged perpetrator or the cops. In the video, the man is seen “squaring up” with cops after the policeman allegedly cold-cocked the man in the face. Supposedly, the man received the taser treatment. From Eric Garner to Tamir Rice to Michael Brown to Freddie Gray and so many others, the black man seems to be a target in the United States. However, if it is true that the unidentified man, black, white, red, brown, or yellow should have met the cold hand of justice from the start with an arrest.

Reason First: Is Jeezy the Greatest Hip Hop Entrepreneur in the South?
You still can’t ban the Snowman. Especially, you can’t stop Jeezy from partnering with Freddie Figgers and Figgers Communications. While the platinum rapper is known for collaborations with fellow hip hop artists, he has had side hustles, like Avion Tequila (for which he sold his equity) and American Cut Steakhouse. Jeezy’s mission is to show street fellows that it’s okay to embrace corporate America. His thirst for economic excellence has even extended into the drinking water market, with Defiance Fuel Water. From selling crack cocaine on Atlanta street corners to a baron of real estate development, Jeezy has reinvented himself. He has provided a roadmap for other hustlers to take their money from the black market and transform it into legitimate businesses. As a force on the microphone, Jeezy has established himself as a motivator. Whether it’s a rap or a real estate project, Jeezy invests not only his money, but his time into these endeavors. The various ventures all stem from the way that Jeezy has put intellectual effort into the way that money is made.

Reason First: Do Cardi B's Accusers Hate Her Because She's Beautiful?
Before roving mobs start chanting “lock her up!” Cardi B should be given her chance at due process like any other rights holding American citizen. A Grammy, a husband, a baby, three number one singles, and an ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Award, and a number one album all set up Cardi B to be amongst the wheat while other female rappers have become the chaff. The indictment regarding her allegedly attempting to “assault two women with intent to cause serious physical injury and other charges like misdemeanor reckless endangerment, assault, criminal solicitation, conspiracy,” and harassment all amount to hate. It is the hatred of the successful for being successful. If Cardi B would have been a dancer still sliding down poles with a few thousand dollars attached to her name, would she be in this conundrum?

Reason First: ESPN Drops Ball
If you’re going to ban LaVar Ball, do it for the right reason. Do it because he is slightly deranged and out-of-control when it comes to evaluating all of his sons’ basketball skills. In a decision made by ESPN, Ball may no longer appear on any of its network programs due to a comment he uttered to sports anchor and moderator Molly Qerim. The quote from Ball to Qerim was that she could "switch gears with [Ball] anytime.” Qerim (who is married to former NBA player and fellow ESPN co-worker Jalen Rose) and the network took offense to the line and have barred him indefinitely. In the video, Qerim took the language in stride. She actually switched gears! Ball is a fool and a delusional dad who says and does things without a filter. What he said may have been off the cuff but his statements about how son Lonzo Ball is better than Steph Curry and Lebron James was particularly ghastly. He was wrong about the UCLA Bruins winning the NCAA championship. Though he was right about Lebron James going to the Lakers. Fast forward and one finds LaVar Ball in the most trouble for words that he spoke.

Reason First: Can the Jordan XIII 'Lakers' Bring an End to Violence Over Sneakers?
The Anthony Davis trade to the Los Angeles Lakers may prove to be a boom for the Jumpman brand. With the duo of Davis and Lebron James on the same squad now, the Air Jordan “Lakers” sneakers might be a hot seller. Fans and supporters will have the opportunity to match the exclusive kicks with those purple jerseys. Because James already wears a 23 on his jersey, Davis will be in a position to change the number, as he once played with the figure popularized by Mr. Michael Jordan himself. The internet has already devised a plan for Anthony to take the number 21. From the brain of legendary designer, Tinker Hatfield, and Jordan the sneaker, which was popularized in the Spike Lee film, He Got Game (1998), saw inspiration from the paw of a panther. Complete with a hologram and the Jumpman symbol, a basketball, and the number 23, the sneaker have been reissued numerous times. Now Lakers fans can sport their Lebron or Davis jerseys to the game, at the bar, or in the comforts of home. On July 20, these faithful will be able to witness a possible playoffs run, and maybe even a Finals appearance during the 2019 to 2020 season.

Reason First: Should Someone Who Knows Something Behind DJ Official's Murder Talk?
It’s time to snitch. In the wake of DJ Official’s shooting death, it is the appropriate hour for people to start naming names, and telling on these savages. Such brutes ought to be discovered and brought to justice for their crimes. DJ Official had just gotten done working with Nipsey Hussle before his tragic demise in March by homicide not too far from where Official received shots. His name was André Wakefield. He did not achieve levels of success as a producer for the likes of Cardi B and YG just to be gunned down like a dog in the street.

Reason First: Can Social Media Save OJ Simpson's Image?
OJ Simpson is looking like he never had a double homicide charge against him or served nearly a decade for robbery. All of this, of course, is allegedly orchestrated propaganda to boost the former NFL star and actor’s profile. He donned casual clothes by a poolside, showing off his ring, watch, and sunglasses in one Instagram video. In it, he addressed all of the dads out there on Father’s Day. In a Twitter post, Simpson provided much more substance. He outlined the rumor that he is Khloe Kardashian’s father and that Kris Jenner and he engaged in trysts.

Reason First: Should Lil' Durk Start Snitching?
Rather than shooting videos, Durk has allegedly been seen shooting in a video with a firearm. Among the other charges including criminal intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Lil’ Durk may see football numbers if tried and convicted of these alleged crimes. Lil’ Durk maintains his innocence throughout this whole ordeal. The Chicago rapper understands that the judge has discovered probable cause in Lil’ Durk’s case and has denied bond. There is that video floating around that illustrates Durk allegedly firing the weapon in question.

Reason First: Is Chris Brown a Certified Simp?
Things just aren’t the same for wannabe gangsters. Chris “Pimp C” Brown (or is it Simp C?) has made headlines again. This time it is not for any domestic violence case. No, this time around, the “Deuces” singer and dancer had some choice words for his old flame Karrueche Tran and her new beau, NFL player Victor Cruz. In an Instagram missive, Brown stated that Miss Tran ought to “upgrade” from her present relationship. Upon the deletion of such rhetoric, Brown then queried his IG followers whether it was a suck[er] move to think about your ex?”

Reason First: Rapper Key Glock Avoided the Penal System... Now What?
The trappings of the rap game include mostly carnal urges, firearms, and the persistent chase of banknotes. Such topics have fueled the genre for decades. Rapper Key Glock is no different in his expression of such subject matter. And his once legal woes turned into a win as his charges for gun and marijuana possession were eliminated. With the simple message “charge dropped” on his Twitter, Key Glock announced to the world that he has been cleared legally. A month after being arrested on these charges, Key Glock seems poised to advance in his rap career, which should see a boost in interest due to his brush with the law. In just a little over a month, Glock secured his placement in the pantheon of rappers whose charges were dropped like the Dow Jones Industrial Average in a bear market. Glock brings to the game more of the same in many respects, but his ability to combat the obvious role of law enforcement seeking to lock up as many rappers as possible appears to be at the forefront of his message. It’s raw, unmistakable and dedicated to street themes. So, Glock’s subject matter coincides with his lifestyle. What else is new?

Reason First: Will UK Rapper Nines' Attack Signal an End to Gangs Across the Globe?
Some say that the world is a gang. This may be true as gangs have risen to places all over the globe in expression of the lowest rungs of tribalism. UK rapper Nines sustained lacerations in the face during a stop in his Porsche. Eleven years after his brother Wayne was shot to death in a gang related hit, allegedly, Nines took those blows to the visage. This has clearly become such a top story, and is particularly vicious because Nines is one of Europe’s top rap acts.

Reason First: From "Big Papi" Ortiz to the Deaths of Americans in the Dominican Republic, How Dangerous Can Paradise Be?
So it appears that the Dominican Republic’s public relations team has quite a bit on their hands. In a matter of a few months, shady stories have rocked the tiny country. The true tales have given pause to anyone living there or who looks forward to visiting the area. The latest story to come out of that Caribbean nation was the shooting and attempted robbery of Major League Baseball (MLB) legend and American David “Big Papi” Ortiz. He received a slug to his back while relaxing at a local bar on the island. Though he sustained this wound, it was not life-threatening and he is expected to fully recover. But where was the security before the whole altercation took place? Fortunately, Ortiz can talk about the whole incident.
