Weathering the Seasons
Summer. Dedicated to the sun, the sand, the heat, the beach, the bathing suits, vacations. It's supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be "the time of our lives" and the reward for enduring all the other seasons. It's not like that for me.

A Woman Out By Herself
I'm just another average shmo. Just another girl next door type. Nothing special, nothing extraordinary, nothing to write home about. And you know what? That's absolutely fine with me. I don't want to be your hero and I definitely don't want to be your victim. I just want to enjoy any day I have left to the best of my ability. I don't need you to buy me a drink. I don't need you to give me a compliment. I don't need you to call me "sexy". It would be nice if you offered a smile and a nice conversation, but if that's too hard for you to do, no problem.

Seen and Unseen Pain causes different reactions
Has anyone ever asked you what you're afraid of? I've been asked, and I've seen people ask that question of others in movies. I don't usually ask that question, because I figure if they wanted to deal with it, they'd start that conversation without my provocation. I don't like to pry. I think about fears more than I probably should and I think that's because a large portion of Generation X would wear t-shirts that read "No Fear" or put that bumper sticker on their POS cars. That's not me. I have plenty of fears. I'm not a hypochondriac and some have even called me "brave" for the ability to address a fear and face it sometimes. After having done that many times, I realized that though I could face a fear, maybe even conquer it to some degree (like my fear of heights doesn't stop me from going up in an airplane or up to the top floor of a skyscraper), fear remains a part of me. People do not respect fear. They respect courage. Yet I've witnessed more foolishness and dangerous behavior occur in the name of courage, not fear. So my conclusion is this: lovers and seekers of wisdom have a healthy relationship and respect for fear. Fear as a personality is the first to mention "danger" and knowing that something is "dangerous" is a key to wisdom.

Horrific Humans
(Dim lighting upon the "congregation" room where there are enough couches and chairs for the whole cast to sit.) Wendy: Good morning everyone. Today's Monday and as usual we will go over the rules of the "Lost and Found" homeless shelter and your responsibilities as a member and resident here. Ethan has made plenty of coffee, so grab a cup and take a seat please.

Horrific Humans
The setting is an abandoned mall turned into a homeless shelter. Pieces of leftover memories of the long forgotten mall remain such as broken signs, dusty products, and leftover machines or tools. To the left, several units are used for the female sleeping rooms. To the right, several units are used for the male sleeping rooms. In the center, there are couches and seats where everyone congregates. Upstairs the romantics go to find a private spot for hanky panky.

Why do we talk or write?
I spend more time with my cat than I do with people. I talk to her as if she's human and understands all the words I use. She rolls her eyes when I use words like time, hours, fat, glutton, or lazy. It's like those words have no meaning to her at all. I laugh in envy, wishing that those words had no meaning to me also.

Why "Public Displays of Affection" are so annoying
If you're a barfly or a thespian like me, then you've probably witnessed all kinds of "public displays of affection" (aka PDA) which includes handshakes, hugs, kissing, nursing babies, and sometimes even dancing. These are all forms of physicality sharing love. So why is it that sometimes when we witness it, we are not feeling giddy and happy and joyous? Is jealousy in the way? Am I upset that the only couple in the bar who are holding hands and kissing is making me feel awkward because no one is doing that with me? Are you upset that a mother pulls out her breast and starts feeding her baby because you don't have a baby? Is the "green-eyed monster" (aka jealousy) making us feel awkward about witnessing PDA or is it "inappropriate" as some will say?

Fig gets some "Me Time"
Fig and I had talked after lunch about Anya and Mario and the temporary living arrangements. I was worried about Fig, trying to show her that she wasn't alone because I knew how heavy the current situation was. She was surprising me though. Usually, she'd be ranting and raving like an emotionally distraught drama queen --- but she wasn't. It was like she had put her "proverbial cross" in some hidden vault, and was wearing a necklace with a graceful swan charm instead.

Lots of Spoilers for "Joker: Folie a Deux" movie
I invested in Todd Phillip's films on the Joker character from the DC comics. I do not regret my investments, whether it was time or money. I read some reviews after Joker 2 was at the theaters, and then I watched some reviews on Youtube, but I did not let any review stop me from purchasing the movie today and watching it very carefully. I'm a committed comic book fan, reiterating my loyalty to DC and Marvel. DC is definitely on the come up, with Joker and Penguin success, while Marvel is struggling big time since their biggest hit with "Avengers, EndGame". If Joker 2 got slammed by fans, I suspect it has more to do with the hope that Marvel can make a comeback or that other villains can get some more attention and Joker can get some rest.

Hypothetical: What would you do if you were her?
Hypothetical situation. Hernia, also called her, lives in a small apartment with a roommate. They have shared the living space for almost 4 years. They've learned to get along. Neither can afford to move out. It's the cheapest apartment they can get. Some improvements occurred while they lived there. Broken stove and fridge, were replaced with new. No washer and dryer, solved with used. Some problems have never been dealt with. Roaches, bees, ants, continue to disturb the peace. Moldy tiny bathroom with rotten wooden walls, never been fixed.

Girl walks into a Bar
So this girl I know, she's already done with her midlife crisis and empty nest syndrome, and she's gotten off the hard drugs and just sticks to cigarettes and coffee now. She was watching the old movie Pretty Woman. She decided to put on her long hair wig and go sing some karaoke at the local pub.
