Zoologically speaking
Have you ever read, or for that matter written, a story that sees the world through the eyes of animals? There are numerous authors who have written in a genre that has been described as anthropomorphism. Dodi Smith, Richard Adams, E.B. White, Roald Dhal, George Orwell, among others. Most are best known as authors of children's books.

Bye bye biker
Dear everyone, It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation as a biker, a rider of motorcycles, for health reasons. This resignation is effective immediately. Well, strictly speaking, it is back-dated to May 20, when my motor insurance policy lapsed. It will be a done deal when I have at last got through all those tire-kickers and sold my latest (find it hard to say 'last') and loved BMW motorbike.

Oh, Jeff... we're... in a book
Okay, this is it folks. Hold onto your hats, horses and hollyhocks. Your poem or micro fiction entry to the Oh, Jeff... challenge is about to get into print. Not to mention Kindle. For the first time in the history of Vocal Media (I am guessing, please correct me if I am wrong) an unofficial challenge will be transmogrified into a book to be released into the real world. People will buy the book, read it, review it, see your magnificent work, among the stunning work of other writing stars, and be amazed.

Dealing with depression: Dr ABC
This is something you might like to try if you feel you are starting to be dragged down into a low mood. Although you might find it helpful it is not intended to take the place of qualified clinical help if that is what you need. Neither can it take the place of the help and support of friends and loved ones. Just an extra tool in the box. Might even work for those who don't have a diagnosis of depression, just wondering how they can give their mood a boost from time to time.

Call me a pescatarian again!
Dear everyone, I resign. I resign from being a label. You try to pin one on me, from now on, I’ll take it right off and give it back to you. I might even invite you to eat it, pin and all. Not "eat my shorts", as Bart Simpson might say, but "eat my label". Or just keep it to yourself, or pin it to someone less able to stand up for themselves than I am.

Oh, Jeff: The book
Today sees the launch of a new concept for the Vocal community. A project to create a new, best-selling book, from a collection of works from some of the best Vocal creators. A collection of micro fiction stories and poems originally published for the 'Oh, Jeff...' challenge to write something inspired by the Roy Lichtenstein painting...

What the critic says
Ever-conscious of my limited talent as a poet, I recently wondered if generative AI could help? Not to write the poetry of course (please give me some credit) but to critique my work. To run through my draft, give an opinion on the quality of the work, perhaps even make suggestions for improvement. I thought I would give it a try and here's what it says about the poem I fed into the system.
