HERE ARE YOUR FLOWERS
Growing up I was not the easiest child to raise, as I would fight in the streets, and would get suspended from school. I stayed in trouble. I was the child that probably got the most spankings of us all. I was the child, you had to pray a little harder for. I was the child parents were warned about. Adults would say, Keep your child away from her, she’s a bad influencer. Yet your love was always unconditional, you were always my constant. No matter how rough life would get, like the lioness, you would protect, defend, and get on bended knees, you covered me. You knew that was a stronger covenant than any weakness. You became a power source, I pulled from, for support. I’ve had a few heroes, but you were always my number one. I remember you used to say, You’re just like your Daddy, but in all actuality, I see more of you in me. I got your kind, loving streak. I have a sharp tongue, just like you too. When pushed, at times it's easy to walk away, the only exception is if someone is messing with your babies, and I am the same way. I know you really make this world a safer place for me, and our entire family. Lady I just love you. I am a firm believer in giving flowers to the living. As I begin to share with the world, the blessing, that’s given me life. I can’t think of a better woman to brag on. I present to you, Celestine my mommy, here are your flowers, while you’re still living.
