Finding Solace
"Marco!" I called and though I could hear him replying "Polo" clearly I couldn't see him. My eyes were covered with a thick scarf acting as a blindfold. Trying to follow his voice I turn my head and walk a few steps to my left "Marco!" I call again. "Polo!" came the reply from further away and in the opposite direction. I tried to retrace my steps but no longer knew which direction I had heard him from. Left? Right? I spun around, confused.

The Play Party At The Old Barn
I was nervous and excited. I bounced on the side of the bed as my best friend, Blair, did her best to tame my unruly hair into twin braids. “What do you think it will be like? Do you like my outfit? I had the worst time trying to figure out what to wear! I can’t believe you’re not coming to this with me!” I was babbling, but I couldn’t stop it. Patiently, she looked at me. “You look amazing, you’re going to have such a great time! I can’t come this time, but next time you can be my escort. I am so jealous that you’re going to this without me!” She laughed; she hadn’t been able to get the weekend off work because we’d only received the invitation a couple of days ago. After months of being vetted and going to networking events, it was finally happening. We had received an invitation to an end-of-summer bash out at the Old Foote Family Farm. It was going to be my very first play party and I had to go alone! I took a deep breath and gave her a quick squeeze. “Alright let’s get this show on the road!”

I come into the room and you’re sitting, naked, on the edge of the bed, just about ready for a bath. You’ve pulled your hair out of its habitual ponytail and it’s laying over your shoulders. I can see one tendril curling softly over your breast. You’re so beautiful my breath catches as I look at you. You hear the noise I make and look at me standing in the doorway and you smile. Tucking your hair behind your ear you hold out a hand to me.

The Wedding
It was a gorgeous wedding. The bride was beautiful. Her new husband was delighted. Her lover was pouting a little and was intent on getting very very drunk. As a result, the table I sat at had a wide array of alcoholic choices available. We drank many many bottles of Mateus on the house, as well as lemon drop shots, and then the tequila came out.

The Costume Party
She wanted the night to be special. She had planned it out carefully. Her best friend had chosen the costume she would wear. She had meticulously applied her makeup. She had gotten her nails done and just finished putting her hair up. She was nervous, never having been on a blind date before, and a costume party at that! She was also excited about her evening; her friend assured her that her mystery date was an honourable fellow. Glancing at the clock, she hurried to finish putting her costume on and the doorbell rang.
