Chapter 18
The next morning, our army moved out, carefully taking our fallen comrades with us. We had lost many. Nearly half of the troops we mobilized out were coming back as Amaranths. When we were far enough away, we all looked back to watch the Gateway glow, then shimmer out of sight as it moved to a new location, safe from being found once more.

Memoirs Of the In-Between: Chapter 16
My days dragged on for the next several weeks. Between raids and learning to delegate an entire section of the Warrior City, I tailed CiCi and learned how to do the things neither Leon nor Claus had shown any interest in learning. I had learned the ins and outs of the city, all of its secrets, and how it functioned. I learned about the complications that arose when things did not run smoothly. CiCi taught me everything. And the more I learned, the more I began to like my new position.

No Buy or Work Boycott Happening on Cyber Monday And Black Friday
Have you guys heard about the purchase boycott that's going to happen this year? People sleep on sidewalks to get into their favorite department stores starting at midnight, in snow and cold. They fight each other for the last expensive toy on the shelf. They trample cashiers. And on Cyber Monday, they clog the cloud with bank transfers and bank transfers. Guys. Memoirs of In-Between Chapter 15
Chapter 15 I was amazed at how weak Estrakulius and I were; my face, arms, and even my feet were numb from the lack of feeling in them. The silence, however, was deafening. I did not have the energy to break it, my head resting in the crook of Leon’s neck and shoulder. Finally, it was Ivan who broke the spell of the silent walk.

Ugly Truth: Most U.S. Citizens Can't Afford Thanksgiving This Year
I don't know about all of you, but I'm a little stressed about the holidays. Millions are going to have to struggle to have a Thanksgiving. My family included. Sure, there are food banks around here, but honestly? There are people out there who need help more than we do right now - and we refuse to take food out of other people's and children's mouths if we can scrounge up change through our odd sources of income. We even have a few luxuries we can sacrifice, such as Disney+ and Netflix.

Memoirs of the In-Between - Chapter 14
That morning when I awoke, I found I was still encased in Leon’s arms. He was still sleeping soundly, his long waist-length raven-black hair fanned out under him, some of it blending with my own long brown locks. A feeling of warmth rushed through my chest and my gut. Reluctantly, I slipped from his arms without waking him and dressed quietly. Before slipping out of his house, I leaned down and pressed my lips to his cheek.

Memoirs Of the In-Between Chapter 13
When we reached the main cafeteria hall, Kora led me in, where a large group of people were sitting. Among the familiar faces were Ivan, holding Rachel’s hand, Nakita, Elliot, Artemius, and Vivian. I was a bit surprised to see Artemius and Vivian, but I decided not to draw attention to myself by expressing it to them.
