Noises are deceiving
The night I heard a knock on the door I stood up with a start, took an umbrella and thought to myself: "who do I want to make fun of?"; I ran downstairs, went down to my eleven-year-old son's playroom, took a club, began to hear rather heavy footsteps. I turned around quickly, I moved quickly, but without making a sound, everything was silent. They couldn't be thieves since I live in a small town, I was afraid, I started to search my house. There is no one, everything was still, motionless, in silence. I go to the door, I look from the peephole, no one is there. I sit in the living room, scared, pick up the phone and call the mother of my son's friend where he went to sleep. Obviously he doesn't answer, on the other hand it's five, who would answer at five. I go back to the bedroom, but I can't fall asleep anymore, I turn in bed, I hear a glass fall, I jump out of bed faster than before, I rush down the stairs, I enter the kitchen. There is no glass on the floor, I sit down, I take deep breaths; at this point I don't go up to the Bedroom anymore. It's 7 o'm, I have breakfast, I get ready to go to work; in the meantime my son returns, already ready to go to school. I don't say a word about what happened, I put on my shoes, take the bag and we go out. I leave my son at school, but I realize I've forgotten something, so I go back and get my hearing aids... Did I forget to say that I've been deaf since birth?
