James Cameron: The Man who Survived his own Lynching
In August 1930, three Black teenagers, James Cameron, Thomas Shipp, and Abraham Smith hung out together one night when they decided to rob a white man named Claude Deeter. The robbery went south, and the teens shot Deeter. Mary Ball, Deeter’s girlfriend, said two of the teens had raped her. The third teen, 16-year-old Cameron, ran away before Mary was attacked and Deeter murdered.

Anyone who hurts a child, especially sexually, certainly does not deserve special favors in this thing called life. Moreover, they deserve to spend a long, long time behind bars. If you ask some people, sex offenders who hurt children also deserve to die.

Woman Killed by Same Man Who Killed Mother 20-Years Earlier
In 1996, Travis Lewis murdered her mother and cousin. She forgave him, forming a close bond during his incarceration. After his 2018 parole, she gave him a job and place to stay. Then, in 2020, he murdered her, too.

Family of Emmett Till Call For Arrest of Carolyn Bryant After Unserved 1955 Arrest Warrant Located
In June 2021, a group from the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation recovered a decades-old warrant calling for the arrest of Mrs. Roy Bryant while searching for case evidence in an abandoned Mississippi courthouse. The warrant, dated August 21, 1955, was published in local newspapers but never served. The Leflore County Sheriff at the time stated he did not want to bother the mother of two children with the warrant.
