UNLEASHED
We can’t leave the caves with our fragile eyes and skin. A thousand years underground has mutated humans into mole-like creatures, pale of skin and nearly blind in bright light, tunnels our pathways to underground rooms. Some mutants could go to ground but only in small fractions of what the old world knew as an hour. One thousand years, yet no life came forth on the super heated cinder-scape above.

LEO the Lion
I am a Leo. Not an arrogant Leo, but a bold Leo. I entered this earthly incarnation on August 11. Never mind the year, but suffice it to say I have been here awhile. The things I have witnessed are many and I am a champion to the underdogs of the world, be they humans, animals, oceans, forests or rocks, to name a few. Leos are fierce protectors.

A Walk in The Park
After work, I headed to my favorite park. It was a late Autumn afternoon and I enjoyed the sights in the 640-acre park, watching for deer, and eyeing raccoons and hawks up in the trees. Chickadees called out “Dee Dee Dee Dee” and Northern Flickers were calling. I stopped to watch the Pileated Woodpeckers hammering on a dead tree about 5 feet off the ground. Continuing on the wooded path, my nostrils were filled with the Fall fragrance of rotted leaves and damp earth. I breathed in deeply, looking up at blue sky, surrounded by green fir trees and the occasional yellow-leafed cottonwood and orange vine maple.
