Getting Back into the Swing of Things

Update

I have been out of commission since Friday the 16th. I injured my knee at the beginning of November, something I thought had gotten better, but it unexpectedly returned worse than when the injury happened. The pain blackouts, and being stuck on the couch/chair where my leg can be properly propped up day and night have kept writing and interaction out of reach.

I am used to being in pain, so this level of incapacity has been exceedingly disheartening. Even the excitement of the Small heat results wasn't enough to supply the energy needed to keep my attention and focus. I am finally back to sleeping in bed, and I can type on the laptop again, so I am trying to at least update, get my few items I had in line out, and get some reading and commenting done.

I saw the doctor and got an MRI, which was clean. So I know there is no joint, tendon, or ligament damage. As always, it's just more pain, so I just have to push through it, and things should go back to normal.

I am so sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough go of it lately. There is nothing quite as draining as that "back-to-square-one" feeling with an injury, especially when it sidelines you from the things you love, like writing and connecting with others. It’s a huge relief that your MRI came back clean, but I know that doesn't make the actual pain or the "disheartening" frustration of being stuck on the couch any easier to manage. Please don't feel like you have to push too hard or "catch up" all at once. Your health comes first! It’s great to have you back posting stories and giving the update but do take it easy on yourself while you're mending. Sending you lots of healing energy for a steady recovery!

Oof—been there, and that kind of setback is so frustrating. I’m really glad you’re back in bed, back on the laptop and easing your way into things again. Your body hit pause, not stop. Be gentle with the restart. Hugs. 🤗

Oh no! That's horrible to hear! I hope you can figure out what's going on and get pain free soon. Keep your head up, you can get through it :)

  • Oh no, I'm so sorry that the pain worsened 🥺 But I'm glad that there's no damage to anything. Hope you feel better soon. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️

Sorry to hear about this ordeal, but I’m glad you’re on the mend. Pain is a huge obstacle to creativity, not only when it’s physically prohibitive, but also when it saps emotional energy. I feel ya.
