2020 will be a year we will forever remember and forever would like to forget (some of what at least for most of us ) this country had to endure this year. This past year leading up to the road to election: boy let me tell ya it all was a cliffhanger...The whole darn year...From Covid-19, George Floyd's brutal death, riots, peaceful protests, fighting over toilet paper, zoom meeting fails, the school's being shut down for months, and unemployment at record highs as the coronavirus, positive cases increase...The list can really go on here... I think you get my point I mean you did live it too!
While we watch our t.v's, our phones, laptops, any screen; to be honest with anticipation in regards to the outcome of this neck to neck battle for the seat of the presidency of the Good Ol' United States. Let us not forget how much we all regardless of party, race, creed, financial stature, sexual preference, sexual orientation, etc. The differences between us... The things that may have other people perceive if you will that divide us. Lets us all take one second to breathe and give ourselves a little credit for all that we all endured this year up to the election.
Felt nice, didn't it?
I am here to simply put: it is normal to feel this stress! This is ok! This is temporary. Breathing exercises and meditation work for me. But if I am being candid it truly is music. It can change my whole mood and day around. I, if I may make a suggestion, to those fellow American's, put on some music! Put that banger jam from high school you know the one... The one that just hits that fun goofy side and yes everyone has one!
I know the tension and the frustration is there I feel it too. Regardless of the outcome as a mother and a co-parent to my one-year-old, I fear what world I am raising her in. But one thing I will fear not is the faith and my patriotism I have in my heart for this country. I have faith in my fellow neighbors, fellow friends, family that if we can make it through this pandemic all the past things in our history we all must recognize we all as a nation as a whole overcame the disappoints, the oppression(whether it be for some experienced or witnessed), triumphs, the victories this is America. America the beautiful and everyone- every citizen has a voice everyone has a heart everyone is unique and beautiful in their own unique way. Everyone has a Mother, a Father, a Sister, a Brother, Loved Ones Near, and Far close to our hearts. Find the kindness we may have lost in the distractions and the hate that was learned and taught. Please consider this and break free from this let's wake up regardless of what the outcome we will and must be stronger united and not divided. I have to have faith I have to have hope and I am going to be there for those that are in need even if it's just a simple conversation. Times are changing and constantly evolving; stress has everyone barely sleeping waiting with baited breathe to know who will run our country for the next four years.
I know it all seems overwhelming but sometimes you need to blast the radio and dance it out as I stated previously. Laugh! Take a break! You deserve it! WE ALL DO! We will find out soon enough and hold your hats when we do and enjoy the ride but don't feel defeated. Life is a learning process this is just one lesson class we had no material on and no pop quiz we will make mistakes we will make surprisingly positive successes too.
