The 1% Ripple Effect
Do You Have What it Takes?
Noisy.
That’s how I describe our world right now.
It’s full of noise and stressful events everywhere.
The news are bombarding us with constant horrors from all corners of the world including our own back yards.
Where do you turn to for some quiet in all the chaos?
Who, do you turn to?
I long for harmony and peace.
I want our future generations to have something to treasure when I’m gone.
What is going to be left of our current world, if we carry on like this?
Now, is the time to focus on the things that we can change.
Ourselves.
Change always starts with you.
If you are happy and content in life, your outlook will feel great as well.
A positive mental attitude can help you everywhere.
In how you think.
In your actions.
In what you believe.
If you can believe in yourself and improve just 1% every single day - you will succeed.
Think about it…
1% doesn’t sound scary.
It’s manageable. You can do it by focusing on what really matters to you.
1% self-improvement every single day.
That 1% will soon start to grow into many more. A month goes by and you will notice the difference in yourself. After six months, you will barely remember who you were before.
Imagine you are a pebble and you get “thrown” into the ocean. Instead of plunging straight into the depths, you skim the top a few times before you sink. Each time you create a ripple effect on the surface of the water.
Now, imagine that pebble is you facing every day struggles. At first, you have this energy as you propel through the beginning of the day. There are no problems yet, and you are feeling great.
Then you hit your first curveball. And another. And another.
How do you handle them?
Do you avoid them? Or, do you handle them right there and then, as they come?
If you avoid problems, they tend to hang over you like rainclouds until you face them. You feel heavier as you carry things around with you. They become burdens.
But, if you handle the issue, you stay on top - just like the pebble skimming the surface.
Imagine you bounce over every problem you face in a day.
How awesome would that be?
We face many different challenges every single day, and we make a choice to either deal with them, or ignore them.
Curve balls are a part of life. We cannot avoid them completely, but what we can do is take control in how we solve them.
How do you normally solve problems?
What if you try and see the problem for what it is?
Think about the evidence.
What is the problem demanding from you?
Does it have to be solved immediately, or can it wait an hour, a day or a week?
What do you need to solve it?
How can you break down the problem into smaller bites so that they are easier to solve? Think of it as a math problem that needs several equations to get to the right answer.
Which method is the best?
When you manage to solve problems as they arise, you will start to feel lighter. Your world is suddenly manageable and your whole outlook on life changes.
You smile more because you are happy.
Your words are positive.
Your energy changes and you feel more alive.
You might help a stranger without thinking about it.
You might even do something that surprises you that day.
You shine your light on other people, and that is the ripple effect from the pebble.
Do you have it in you to nail the 1% every single day?
I did, and I’ve already noticed a big change in myself.
Go on, what have you got to lose?

Overwhelming is the word of the times it feels. Thanks for the tips and for helping us soothe our souls.
