Withering Ties

A quiet storm of resentment, ego, and emotional distance.

By AkshitaPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

Where everything is short-lived

The grudges we hold are long-lived

One moment we say, arguments lead nowhere

And the next moment, we speak words, unfair

We carry so much hatred in our heart

That we let our relationships fall apart

Our ego is so big we refuse to speak

Not knowing it’s climbing a mountain’s peak

We wait for others to talk and initiate

Time flies and we let our problems inflate

Relationships, so weak, have turned into a nightmare

Where fear, despair fill the air and people speak only to thin air

We let resentment cloud our mind

That blurs our vision, makes us blind

We ask others to give us peace

Unaware that it lies within-and we let it cease

I do think the age of socail media has exacerbated this massively!

This is such a great reminder that I need to let go if grudges. I've always been terrible at that!
