When War Has Ceased, Bring Peace To My Heart
End it soon, let’s fight for peace not death

When War Has Ceased, Bring Peace To My Heart
When war has ceased and the last cry falls silent,
Let the earth loosen the smoke from her weary breath.
Let the fields remember the weight of gentle footsteps,
And teach the sky to hold a softer blue.
Where thunder once rolled through broken streets,
May laughter rise without fear of being heard.
May windows open without trembling hands,
And curtains move only with the wind.
Lay down the anger that burned like iron,
Bury the sharp words beneath kinder soil.
Let forgiveness grow in the spaces left behind,
Slow and certain as morning light.
When the marching ends and boots are still,
May hearts unlearn the rhythm of alarm.
May sleep return without shattered dreams,
And night feel whole again.
Bring peace to my heart as rivers return to calm,
As bridges are rebuilt with steady hands.
Let trust be stitched into daily bread,
Shared across long and patient tables.
I do not ask for glory or grand parades,
Only for quiet that does not break.
Only for doors that close without dread,
And voices that speak without harm.
When war has ceased, let mercy remain,
Stronger than pride and deeper than loss.
Let children grow without counting sirens,
And elders rest without watching the road.
Then bring peace to my heart at last,
Not as a whisper that might disappear.
Bring it as a steady and faithful flame,
That will not falter when shadows fall

Amen and good job, Miss Marie. War is horrible, but at times kind of necessary.
