Walking into Tamsui lake

Walking into Tamsui lake

By Chen Niao Published about 10 hours ago 1 min read

Walking into Tamsui Lake,

Walking into Tamsui Lake,

I cannot shake the taste of memory,

Bitterness falling quietly

Into the soil of longing.

Watching my own tears run free,

I still fear the book inside my heart,

Pages trembling in silence,

Afraid to fall apart.

Looking at the leaving me,

Your heart begins to ache,

Watching the departing you,

My soul has lost its place.

In this restless world we lived,

Eyes wide through endless nights,

Searching through the storms within,

No road back in sight.

Chorus

At the moment we turned away,

We met like strangers in the rain,

Time slipping through our hands,

Love whispering in pain.

Eyes filled with silent tears,

Still shining in moonlit blue,

If fate could speak once more,

It would lead me back to you.

I remember you back then,

Bright eyes under silver light,

Shimmering like quiet stars

Floating through the night.

I remember me back then,

A shy face warmed by sun,

Like golden fields of tenderness

Where our hearts were one.

Bridge

We stood in gentle silence,

No farewell left to say,

Only blessings in our breathing

As time pulled us away.

Final Chorus

At the end we found our destiny,

Not in sorrow, not in ache,

But in the quiet understanding

Of Tamsui Lake.

Hand in hand with memory,

Where the water holds our wake,

Two drifting souls forgiven,

Walking into Tamsui Lake…
