Home,

where I shed the armor

that shields my heart.

I see beauty in the world,

but shadows closely follow,

turning color to black.

I retreat inside,

yet you let me be me,

gently coaxing me out,

embracing my fragile self,

imperfect and raw,

naked in your care.

Unshielded.

Awww, that was so sweet and wonderful. Loved your poem!

  • Such an expression of sheer & freeing bliss: allowing & allowed the freedom to be.

Oh I LOVE this imagery! True love encourages you to take off the armor you build around yourself. Great job!
