Till There Was You
You woke up my heart and the birds sang loudly

Till There Was You
I never knew the sound of laughter,
That could linger in the air.
Never felt the warmth of sunlight,
Till your love was standing there.
Each day had passed like waves on stone,
No meaning, no design.
But then your hand reached out to touch,
And everything felt mine.
The stars were cold, the night too long,
The seasons stayed the same.
But you, my love, your gentle grace,
Set fire to my name.
It wasn’t life, it wasn’t real,
Before your light broke through.
The world was nothing, just a shadow,
Till there was you.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
