They Left Like It Was Easy

I still replay the moment like I could change it

They Left Like It Was Easy

They left
Like it was nothing
Like goodbye
Was just another word

No tremble
No second glance
Just silence
Dragging its feet behind them

I waited
Like fools do
Thinking maybe
They’d come back
For something they forgot

But they didn’t
And I became
The thing
They forgot

I replayed it
A hundred times
The last moment
The last sound

The way
Their shadow
Didn’t even
Look back

Pain
Doesn’t always scream
Sometimes
It just sits quietly
At the edge of your bed

They said nothing
And somehow
That silence
Cut deeper
Than words ever could

I tried
To hate them
But instead
I hated myself
For not seeing it coming

Was I too much
Or not enough?
Did they leave
Or did I lose?

Now,
I carry questions
Like bricks
Stacked behind every smile

I walk past places
Where they used to laugh
And hear echoes
Of what never returned

They left
Like it was easy
But I
Still unpack the moment
Like it holds something I missed
