The setting tone

Fear the mind,

not the thoughts,

for every precision of my knife,

through the roughness of the cucumber slice,

landing to strife,

tempts to sway an inch,

quite an urge to try without a flinch,

**

The dip in the background,

The noise in the foreground,

Helpless isn't the word,

Helplessness on the verge,

**

I pause for a second,

I stop for the moment,

The thoughts, saving you,

But

The mind, a slow mutiny,

The lingering voice inside,

**

Fear the mind,

Not the thoughts,

Waiting for a slot to open,

**

I lay the knife down,

walk back from the setting tone,

a step back from the passing clouds,

don't fear the mind,

**

I dial my emergencies, no one pick up,

I dial my friends, no one picks up,

I don't dial my family members, I don't want anyone to pick up,

Amazed at my mind, the power play at the worst times,

a dose of win for the mind,

**

I look up for help,

I stay in the line,

listening from the start of the voice, 'Hello',

talking to a stranger,

to let pass through the suicidal climb,

**

Don't blame,

Don't feel ashamed,

Please, Call.

About the Creator

Parvathi J

Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.

Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.
