Sitting on the edge of extinction,

knowing that I am just a humble speck in the asteroid of humanity,

I can't help but wonder

if dinosaurs would have done anything differently

had they foreseen their impending doom,

or if they were just big dumb fucks like us.

Ohh, marvelous! I laughed heartily at the end but it’s just as sad as funny. Great work indeed.

From one dumb fuck to another congrats on a stellar Top Story.

  • That was the laugh I needed with my morning coffee, Cathy! Thank you! Well-wrought, indeed! I'd like to think we have transcended the reptile mind, but that doesn't necessarily make us smarter...

Feckless is feckless does. And we're just big dumb fecks, Cathy.

  • Haha; well, I do think dinosaurs, like wildlife today were affected by climate changes and likely the Fred's and Barney's of their time. From what I have witnessed in 61 years, it's always the dumb-ass human forms that screw up the planet. xx

Beautiful work. I love how the last line ties in the idea that humans are fairly self-destructive, and in facing death, we may not do (/are not doing) anything but sitting and staring. I hope this makes it to top story! It surely deserves it! Great work, Cathy!

The Trex was in charge of pushing the button to activate the shield, but his arms were too tiny and he couldn’t reach it in time
