My heart pounds when their eyes of judgement scrape my skin.
I can hear the crunching of their questions,
“Is he defective?”
Pulchritudinous answers…
I have none.
Being a single father is not glamorous.
But I work to do my best.
To God, I surrender the rest.
Many women look at me, and I know they don’t understand.
It’s not the worst thing in the world being misunderstood though.
I promise you,
I gave every ounce of love I had to give to the woman that I married.
Until one day,
I had nothing left to give,
because I couldn’t find me anymore.
Out in public, every family I see,
there’s a dull ache, yearning for what I always envisioned for me.

Very raw and intense piece. well written, and great job.
There is a raw pulchritude in how you capture the single father’s journey. I really felt this description of finding our way in a world that doesn't always understand
Awww this is sad and a bit heartbreaking. Loneliness when raising a child alone is difficult - you see families and wonder where is the rest of yours. A partner. Well done. 🤗🤗
You are really great at being a Dad and such a great influence on her. Your best is beyond... 😁
