Powerful men silence the joy

And the youth of girls

Who are taken and lured

Into a world full of exploitation

Making them experience

Deeply violating acts

In the service of those

Who claim to have a hold on

The culture power and wealth

Of the world and cause

Such immense pain and anguish

Unto children and women

Taking away their freedom and dignity

Telling them that they don’t have

Any choice in this and that they

Are only there to please

Someone decades older

They are unable

To be free and to experience

Childhood or joy or their own lives

Where is the outrage

For the suffering that has been caused

And ignored by so many

These girls all live with it

And they never should’ve had to
