The Burden of Power

A fantastical tale about the destiny one cannot escape

The world is caving in on me.

More weight,

and I will fall.

The expectations are dragging me under.

and I begin to crumble,

fading into nothing.

You say I’m unique

That I will change everything.

But I’m human.

I’m disposable.

And yet,

I feel the power thrumming inside me —

a beacon coming to life.

Tickling me,

surging within me.

What is happening to me?

Will I ever be what everyone expects of me?

Give back what was once stolen from the land —

the core of nature,

Its vital essence,

the heart of the land.

Let time unfreeze,

and nature take its course.

Spread its essence across heaven and earth,

through water and air.

But to do that,

I will have to be extraordinary —

for you,

and for everyone else.
