The Alarm Clock

A thing you love to hate

I go off each morning,

out of bed, it’s time to get.

My sound is so alarming,

ignore me at your regret.

How many times,

can you hit the snooze?

If you’re late, it’s a crime,

and your job you could lose.

Many people hate me,

but yet I’m tolerated.

It is weird relation, you see,

where love is insinuated.

I am very glad that when I go off,

you don’t do what comes to mind,

wack me so hard that off my parts drop,

and become impossible to find.

While I serve a vital function,

and endure all the hate.

I’m a man-made invention,

that is something great.
