Stillness and Self

The Art of Listening Within

There is a space

between what you say

and what you truly mean

__

Live there for a while

__

Let the noise fall away

like coats shrugged off

at the door of your own mind

__

You are not empty

when you are alone

__

You are gathering

__

Every silent morning

polishes something unseen

inside your chest

__

The world will knock

with its bright alarms

and urgent hands

__

Answer it gently

__

But keep a room within you

where nothing shouts

__

Where your thoughts

sit cross-legged

and simply exist

__

Stay there long enough

and you will remember

__

You were never lost

__

Only unheard. 🌿

This is gorgeous, Aarsh. These particularly stood out to me: “Every silent morning polishes something unseen inside your chest” and “But keep a room within you where nothing shouts” The first landed in my chest - or, perhaps, tuned me in to the polishing & I could almost glimpse or grasp it. The second is a very needed reminder. Thank you for sharing these words ✨✨

Well-wrought! This quiet place opens a way rather than being an end. How strange is it, but how wonderful, that we should be capable of experiencing totality from one finite point, friend? Yet we were put in that place to do just that, or so I often suspect.

  • thank you
