Embraced by arms of darkest night,
Beneath the blanket of the sky,
Pierced by pinpricks of twinkling light,
It seems such folly to live and die.
.
The matrix traps with bars of distant stars
And one can feel so alone.
The screams of wars and abattoirs
Resonate off stone and bone.
.
Yet, reason’s logic does insist,
That among those far off shining suns
Somewhere life forms must exist
Who never needed swords or guns.
.
When Earth’s sad Earthlings make you fret and fuss,
Just know they’re out there, looking up at us.
