Spring Is Approaching

Everything comes to life bringing joy to the world

Spring Is Approaching

The earth exhales a softer breath at dawn,

And light begins to lean across the fields,

A hush of gold rests gently on the hills,

As winter loosens its careful hold.

Beneath the soil a quiet stirring wakes,

Green promises press upward through the cold,

The smallest shoots lift hopeful, steady heads,

And dare to trust the warming sun.

Daffodils gather fire within their cups,

Petals open wide to greet the day,

Their amber hearts glow bright against the breeze,

A choir of colour rising from the earth.

The sky blushes in shades of honeyed flame,

Clouds drift slow in rivers of pale light,

And every distant ridge and furrowed lane

Feels wrapped in morning’s tender grace.

Birdsong threads silver through the air,

Each note a claim that life returns again,

Soft wings disturb the quiet branches high,

And carry news of gentler days.

The wind no longer cuts with sharpened edge,

It moves with kindness through the grass,

Tracing arcs between the bending stems,

And brushing warmth along my face.

Even the shadows seem less stern,

They fall with lighter touch on stone and gate,

As if the world remembers how to smile,

And lets its guarded silence fade.

Spring is approaching, clear and certain,

Not with thunder, nor with sudden shout,

But in steady bloom and patient light,

Arriving as all true hope does.
