I love art,
and it is my daily ritual
to sit for painting sessions.
Kids often follow their parents,
so, my daughter does too.
I encouraged her
to make a monk,
going on peace walk.
She did obediently,
taking my art as a reference.
She painted with full focus,
dodging her bratty brother.
The reference monk had no shoes,
but she added them, saying
or the monk would get splinters,
compassion even in imaginations.
She added Aloka too,
the canine ambassador.
I took a picture of the art,
uploaded it on Facebook.
Likes are showering,
six hundred so far,
generous comments too,
how much joy it gave them,
uploaded on Esty
two sales so far.
We will share
some of the proceeds,
as donations.
Art rewards and nurtures us,
at so many levels.
