Something On My Mind

Let's talk

Let's get something straight

I can't read your mind.

And another thing,

Neither can you read mine

Let's get something straight

I'm not deaf nor dumb nor blind

And another thing,

I've got something on my mind.

If I don't put the rubbish out

There's really no need to scream and shout

If I don't take the dog for a walk

All we have to do is sit down and talk.

And another thing

I don't mean to be unkind

But I've got something on my mind

If I forget your birthday card

To clean your car

To sweep the yard

There's really no need to flip

It's really not that hip

Too much escapes your lips

With your posturing and your pouting

With your hands on your hips

You need to get a grip

And another thing

I've got something on my mind

And sometimes I get distracted

By things that become protracted

And all of these histrionics

Are disturbing my harmonics

And another thing…..

I think you are the most beautiful woman

I ever saw in my life

And I love you ever so much

Your sparkling eyes your tender touch

I just want to reach out and kiss your heart

And another thing,

let's get something straight

I love you

But I've got something on my mind.
