My pen flows a little easier when the world is hushed and the fever of the day is over.
Maybe it’s because my thoughts are a little less painful to grab when slowed by the night and cooled by the evening breeze.
In the dark I sit still and listen.
Tonight I hear the ocean touching the soft sand and my pen carving paper.
The small voice of God reaches into my soul. He inspects it like a good mechanic and puts it back in its place. God makes it ready for the day to come.
Light will rise from the sea in a few hours.
This sleepless night will transform into the day ahead. Amen

I love the introspection and spirituality in this. I like the idea of God reaching in and giving you a mechanical once-over. That's such a vivid image and could be quite macabre but it's like a clockmaker, making sure that all is in order. Reaaly enjoyed this!
Oh wow, this is so inspiring! I'm with you, especially writing after a peaceful sleep. 🥰 I love your story especially this one: "Maybe it’s because my thoughts are a little less painful to grab when they’re slowed by the night and cooled by the evening breeze."
