Rot

The world has a disease

By Maggie Published 6 months ago 1 min read

The world has a disease

A rot in its core

It sinks deep into its roots

Sometimes its met with laughter

Sometimes violence and anger

But sometimes its just ignored left to grow

It sinks deep into our minds

Some say its in our blood

If it is my blood is all wrong

Or our culture

But maybe

Just maybe

Its trickled down by those in charge

Hatred is a funny thing

Its a disease deep in our roots

Because while we point at each other

Nothing will every change

The rich get richer

The poor blame each other

And the rot grows and grows

Its in our core

In our "blood"

In our "culture"

Hatred is taught

Hatred is contagious

Hatred is learned

But

Kindness is in our blood

Hope is in our culture

its grows over the rot

a battle that never ends

I don't and wont ever choose to rot.
