Red Barked Trees
Inspired By A Walk In Hulne Park And A Song By Wire
Introduction
Today I went for a walk in Hulne Park, Alnwick and noticed that the bark on a lot of the trees was a browny red reminding me of the song by Wire. This is about one of my previous visits.
I thought I would try to create a sonnet with every line with the same rhyme, or close to it.
Red Barked Trees
๐ฒ๐๐ณ๐ด๐๏ธ
Come Now And Take A Long Walk With Me
Down This Avenue Of Red Barked Trees
Their Branches Are Bare, Devoid Of Leaves
Skeletons Standing So Silently
๐ณ
They Are Unmoved By The Whistling Breeze
Their Tops So High That We Cannot See
Like Ancient Sentinels, Steadfastly
Against The Elements, They Stay Free
๐ณ
These Gods Of Wood, So Tall And Mighty
This Land's Protectors Will Always Be
Strong And Silent, Undaunted And Free
For All Those That Walk Here, They Can See

What Did You Find? You Have To Tell Me
Down This Avenue Of Red Barked Trees
